Is there a trick to resetting the device using a USB image from the site?

Am I supposed to be unpacking the .gz file to the USB stick? Does the USB stick need to be formatted a certain way?

I’ve just tried with 3 different sticks and the 4K just boots as normal (though perhaps takes a bit longer). Not sure if I’m missing a trick? My 4K has been super flaky later so I’d like to get it back to stock to see if that helps.

Use the installer from the webpage it will automatically format the drive and put the image onto the stick.
While SD cards would be more reliable then USB stick if you still have a problem

The installer… ah ha. I was just using the disk image: http://download.osmc.tv/installers/diskimages/OSMC_TGT_vero3_20190522.img.gz
