Is vertical shift supposed to work with hardware acceleration on?

Hello!

I have a quick question regarding the Vertical Shift option in Video settings. I have a 16:9 projector screen, with a projector that does not provide enough vertical lens shift for me to shift the image so that I can then mask the top of the image to achieve a scope aspect ratio.

When I found the Vertical Shift option, I figured I could use that to shift the video instead of the projected image itself. But when I try it out on 2.40:1 movies, changing the value to -2.0 and 2.0 has no effect at all. However when I disable hardware acceleration, it suddenly starts working.

I found a couple of old threads which seemed to indicate that support for Vertical Shift using hardware acceleration had been added, so I just want to confirm if this feature is supposed to work, or not?

IIRC vertical shift only works if the zoom is < 1 ie you can’t shift the picture out of the 16:9 screen area.

Yes I realized that after trying another movie which is 2.40:1 but is encoded in a 16:9 container with black bars.

But this issue is specifically regarding movies in a 2.40:1 container, and as I mentioned when I disabled hardware acceleration the vertical shift worked just fine.
