Jan update - boot loop

Updated tonight.

Leaving my Vero 4K in endless rebooting state.
When Kodi is started - I can see PVR add-on being loaded.
About 50% through - sad face and then Kodi reloads.

This goes on forever.
Any suggestions - other than full reset?

Hi,

I’ve moved your post to a new topic, as the one you posted in was more announcements.

Are you connected wifi or wired?

Are you able to ssh in?

Thanks Tom.

If you’re on Wired, unplug Ethernet. Should let you boot up enough to check things further

Sam

@Tom_Doyle

I’m on wired network

@sam_nazarko

Will give it a shot without ethernet - and then report back.

Disconnected ethernet.
No crash.
Disabled my PVR client.
Reconnected ethernet
Rebooted
Kodi loads - and then 2 seconds later - sad face - reboot/reload kodi - endlessly.

Disconnect ethernet - the reboot/reload of Kodi stops.

Connect ethernet, boot to crash, disconnect ethernet, when it boots, provide logs please.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Here are the logs.

Skimming the logs as it is late.

Which PVR client are you using?
Can you try and clear the EPG Cache?

Sam

No worries Sam.

PVR client: TV Mosaic (DVB Link)
Went to settings -> PVR & Live TV -> General - Clear Data.
As soon as data finished clearing - sad face - and then back to infinite boot loop.

I don’t know much about DVBLink - but can you check if the server is up to date? A quick search doesn’t show any known issues that could cause this on the Kodi side.

Sam

Server side is up to date.
As mentioned in post 4 - even disabling the PVR client doesn’t sort it out.
Tried it again today.
After disabling the PVR client - then returned to the “homescreen” of Kodi.
Before I could do anything else - sad face and reboot.

Disconnecting Ethernet - I can load Kodi.

If you shut down the PVR server; does it still occur?

Sam

Server (NAS) shutdown.

  • Vero boots and loads Kodi.
  • Leaving it untouched
  • Every 15 seconds sad face and reload of Kodi

Goes on forever.

Recorded a short video of it.

Something is broken in your userdata.
I would suggest starting again: moving the .kodi directory to .kodi-backup

And by moving the .kodi directory to .kodi-backup - I will be able to restore my settings or how am I to interpret that?

You could move it then start moving things bit by bit.

I will have a go at it…

I presume making a backup from within Kodi via My OSMC - wouldn’t be any good - as I would backup and eventually restore the faulty bit as well?

Not really, but it’s worth making the backup now so you have a copy and we can help restore things bit by bit.

Okay Sam - thx for all the input so far!

I will give it a go.

Gave up tinkering with files - and ended up doing a fresh install.
