Just ordered a V

Had a 4K for years which has done very well but have decided to go for a V even though the 4K is still fine. Having read a lot of posts about it, I’d like to say how impressed with Sam’s (and others) diplomacy when dealing with some trollish posts and idiots. You took a lot longer to tell them to buy someone else’s kit/go away than I would have. I’d have used somewhat different language too, probably! Well done and thanks for all the support you’ve given us/me over the years. :pray:t2:

Makes sense for 4K users to start thinking about an upgrade now.

You won’t be disappointed

I also ordered a Vero V as I want to support OSMC and your efforts. I’ve gone through upgrades from a RPi3 to an RPi4, and with the updates to the Vero V and DV Profile 5 I really started to take a serious look at the Vero V. My main media player that I’ve struggled with lately is a Roku Ultra 4802X and no support for frame rate matching. It’s a documented issue that’s just ignored for any support or fix. They also have gradually removed apps that I use. Those apps are supported with the awesome community for Kodi add-ons. It’s a night and day difference with OSMC where if I do run into issues I’ve found some thread or document on how to resolve it. Thank you!

Hello and welcome

You will definitely enjoy your Vero V. If you run in to any issues or have any questions you know where to find us.

Cheers

Hi Sam,

Long time Vero 4k+ users here. My 4k+ won’t boot when using the power adaptor. It boots up fine with USB power but keeps crushing every 5 mins. I am going to take this as an excuse to upgrade to Vero V.

Owning quite few streamers, the only need I have right now is a media player with Dynamic Tone Mapping capability so I don’t have to fire up my madVR HTPC every time I want watch something. My projectors are the JVC RS540 and the Epson UB5040. Would Vero V gives me what I need? That is HDR/DV to SDR tone mapping with my old projectors?

We have some tone mapping to SDR. Let us know how it performs when you get your device.

We can make some changes. But we don’t support allowing you to use your own 3D LUTs.
