Kodi 18 on RPi3 and Hardware acceleration

Starting Kodi (18.0-ALPHA3). Platform: Linux ARM (Thumb) 32-bit
Using Release Kodi x32 build (version for Raspberry Pi)
Kodi compiled Jun 29 2018 by GCC 6.3.0 for Linux ARM (Thumb) 32-bit version 4.9.30 (264478)

I installed the Amazon VOD Addon from kodinerds. It uses the inpurtstream player. For me it looks like that GPU acceleration is not used. CPU is getting overheated while playing x264 FullHD videos:

Is this a general Kodi issue or related to input stream addon?

Go for 720p for the time being.
