Lipsync issue - Help needed

I have a lip sync issue with with my setup, I don’t know what to try to fix it. I’ve played with the settings on the Vero, the tv and the amp. I’ve tried adjusting with the amp the MS audio delay but I can’t get it perfect and it’s bugging me. It makes me feel it’s something on the Vero.

I have a Vero V, all wired and served by a windows share on a PC.

My setup is as follows:

Sony Bravia 9 TV
Marantz cinema 70s
Vero V

Thanks in advance

Can you change Adjust display refresh rate: On start / stop to Always?

Your log is looking a bit strange.
You seem to have hardware acceleration disabled which should be enabled

Also you have TrueHD capable receiver: false, but your receiver is reporting support for DTS and TrueHD, so it should be enabled.

@KG648 I thought you enabled it (based on your other thread). Did you disable it again or was this log taken before you enabled it?

hm, I’ll re-take the logs. It’s definitely enabled.

I’ve seen it before somewhere TrueHD, but I can’t find it in settings.

Where do I locate it? I’ve been through every menu :(.

Please read this post about correctly setting up your audio.

Wonderful, thank you. That’s now set. It needed a reboot too after setting that option.

I still see the lip-sync issue, it’s ok on the the other film the dark knight I was mentioning, but on David Gilmour in Pompeii, it still persists. I’ve also generated some fresh logs with the latest settings:

Thanks again.

GUI Resolution: 4096x2160 @ 24p

Please keep the resolution at 1080p.
And please try change one setting at a time when changing things…

Noted.

Clearly click happy trying to make it work but having a negative.

Shall I change that, try again and reproduce the logs?

Thanks

Yes please.

One change made, ran a view files to check - seems good! I’ll have a further check this evening with some others, but I think we are there.

Would you mind just having a quick once over to check nothing else untoward please?

Thank you.

Looks OK. If you find the UI a bit sluggish, you may want the resolution at 1080p60.

I’ve just gone to play Oppenheimer and it seems I’m faced with a lip-sync issue. Any further diagnostics/actions I can try?

Thanks.

I have a new Yamaha amp and had the same issue, eventually I found that turning off lip sync on the amp solved sporadic a/v sync issues. I still had to manually increase audio delay for about 50ms in Kodi but that’s basically it.

Thanks for the suggestion, I did try I can get it closer but I’d say far from perfect, I’ve been through the scale.

Morning!

Since then, I’ve been playing again, I’ve managed to get it pretty perfect using the Kodi audio offset “delayed by” 0.075s.

How can I apply this globally? Unless this is a fudge and there is another way to fix it.

Cheers

I’ve just found the “set default to all media” setting. So I’ll keep an eye over the course of the day as I go and report back. Hopefully progress!

There’s a great addon I’ve been using and gets a/v sync fixed and saved for different audio on the fly:

I think you might be fiddling with settings too much.

If you are using passthrough you won’t be able to adjust audio offset unless the video doesn’t have an audio track that can be passed through: most likely AAC for more modern content.

So make sure you are using passthrough to avoid problems and if you still have problems upload a new log.

Strange. I’ve just checked and audio passthrough is enabled.

I don’t disagree, I’ve changed alot through trial and error. Would I best “resetting” the config and only changing the bare minimum settings? if so how would I achieve this.

Thank you.
