Maybe I should post a new thread instead of continuing this one, but I thought I’d mention that the issue with video playback getting out of sync with audio on live HD content is still present in the latest Kodi 20 release while hw-acceleration is turned on.
There also seems to be another issue with how OSMC decodes low quality live HD content using software decoder. I had no issues with high CPU usage using the above method to disable h264 HW decoder when watching live TV on Kodi 19, but I get 100% CPU usage and stuttering on all cores for live HD streams on kodi 20.
I know the Vero 4k+ is plenty capable of decoding these streams using software decoder, but something must be broken. I have a rpi 3 running OSMC 2020.11.1 (super stable release) that has no issues playing back the same content
Have you tried the 2020 (corresponding version) on Vero?
I haven’t, can’t see that image is present for V4k+? I’m thinking this must be the closest one?

Worried other things won’t be working as expected though since my setup with the V4k+ uses 4K, HDR, CEC and HD Audio, not sure where we were stability wise in 2020 
Yes, that’s the one. I’m getting audio sync issues with live TV both SD and HD and with BBC iPlayer. The video freezes for a second then continues behind the audio. Can be fixed by pausing and unpausing the stream. When I press pause, video continues until it catches up, suggesting a buffering issue. I believe it’s only since Kodi 20.

I have exactly the same issue, also started to happen after updating to Kodi 20. Did you eventually find any fix or you learnednto live with it like me?
I don’t get this as often, these days, haven’t seen it for a while. I found some loose connections in my aerial feed and fixed those. And I haven’t been using iPlayer on vero so much recently. Are you fully up to date?
Yup, I’m actively updating hoping the next one will help to fix the issue. No luck yet.
I get these audio delays several times a day, like every 30min of watching the TV stream. May be because of my IPTV provider split second dropouts, I don’t know… one I know it didn’t happen in Kodi 19
