If I try and play a music track via Singles or Songs the player freezes for about 10-20 seconds before starting to play the track. Going via other options like Artists or using the search facility work ok.
Am I missing something?
Also, playlists are thoroughly confusing even after searching OSMC / Kodi (but that might be another subject).

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
reboot the OSMC device twice(!)
reproduce the issue
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

I see there are some “unable to lookup host:” entries, this only happens when accessing via Singles or Songs.
Suggest to change your sources to use IP Adresse unless you can ensure proper DNS Resolution in your LAN
I’ve changed it to the IP rather than name. It all went a little crazy so I deleted the music library and rescanned, all seems ok now. Even the playlist is working more logically for some reason.
