I just reinstalled OSMC on my vero 4k plus and have encountered multiple issues rendering it unusable at the moment. I installed via usb the latest image available from Download - OSMC 2021.08-1
- First time I reinstalled, after configuring profiles it suddenly froze, and when rebooted went in to a black screen after the blue OSMC splashscreen. I could still reach it via SSH.
- After another reinstall I am avoiding creating profiles right now, but I tried to switch using Swedish qwerty for my keyboard layout, but the change is not taking effect. Tried rebooting, and the setting still says Swedish qwerty, but it is still effectively US keyboard layout.
- I tried to add some sources via samba that is working fine on other kodi installations (not OSMC), but the connection always times out. I tried this connected to both WiFi and wired, but neither works.
Anyone know why there are so many issues? Anyone else experiencing something similar?
To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

reproduce the issue

upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

I reproduced the SMB error and just re-enabled english qwerty and then disabled it again trying to type something. Not sure how to properly reflect that issue in the logs.

If you are using a Swedish hardware keyboard, you need to set it in System->Input->Keyboard layouts
Have a careful read through this. You probably have a problem with credentials.
Finally got around to working on my vero 4k device again. Got the keyboard layout to work now, thank you @grahamh.
Samba was also resolved, though it just started working again, not sure what happened.
The hardware is still very unstable. Have enabled profiles again, and when I switch between them the library does not load sometimes, seemingly at random. Nothing is in Movies or TV shows, but I seem to be able to update the library, and new content is added, but the list is still empty. After having changed profiles a couple of times the entire system also hangs forcing me to reboot via unplugging its electricity and plugging back in. I bought my Vero 4k+ around 2 years ago. Has the hardware changed anything since then?
