Regarding this… I have no idea what’s going on here. It seems that Kodi doesn’t handle self-updating elements gracefully. The animation responsible here shouldn’t do this, but it seems that some of the conditions get confused by this. As it is resolved easily and not occuring on most setups, I’d leave it for now. Not sure how to debug and fix it.
I’m definitely not losing sleep over it. No worries at all. Thanks for all your efforts.

That’s the error I get when I do: osmc@osmc:~$ nano /etc/apt/sources.list
NEVERMIND!
I forgot to do sudo.
Did the update, changed to “File only”, and it’s behaving exactly as decribed.
I’ll post here if I find any anomolies.
