Migration from Vero 4K to Vero 5

Hello, i just received a Vero 5. I was happy with Vero 4K (the harder conccurence for Vero 5 as Sam said :-)) but i bought it because i have la big latency know with Vero 4K to consult my huge Music library and also a big latency when i connect to my Download computer (on the same LAN. I did’nt have this connection latency before… Perhap’s it is due to migration from windows 10 to windows 11 on this doawnload computer…). Strange. I also have know a film trailer issue (seem youtube is not working… It had by past and i have the same API Keys…) …

Anyway, i would like to migrate all things i have installed (such as interface, addons, … ) on the Vero 4K to the Vero 5 ? Is there a way to do that without re-installing all ?

Many thanks for advices,

Oliver

Use MyOSMC Backup/Restore

it’s work fine thanks. I’m now in vero 5. But i don’t notice any value added with my problems:

  • big latency know with Vero 4K to consult my huge Music library
  • big latency when i connect to my Download computer (on the same LAN. I did’nt have this connection latency before… Perhap’s it is due to migration from windows 10 to windows 11 on this doawnload computer…).
  • Also have know a film trailer issue (seem youtube is not working… It had by past and i have the same API Keys…) …

Any suggestions ?

Maybe something changed in the network, we suggest to check your network with iperf3. Please read this howto

You would need to use the latest version of the addon from github

Also worth asking, but did you check both devices were on the same version?

Sam

the new youtube addon 7.2 work finely, many thank

I don’t understand how to use iperf3 (my skill are too low…) sorry. When i connect OMSC to my download PC it’s long the first time and if i reuse it it connect fastly… Does it sound to you ? (i have always the one switch between those)

Same version of what ? (sorry to nott understand…)

Same version of OSMC.

You can check by going to My OSMC and checking the version in the bottom left corner.

Sam

Which part of the explanations I linked to you got lost?
happy to help.

Can you let us know a bit more how you integrated? I assume Samba but how in detail and what do you mean with “connect”

the first line : how do i launch command on my omsc ?

connect mean a repetory of my omsc is -in video) pointed to the directory of my PC on windows 11. I share my PC directory to my OMSC…

ok i’ll give you the omsc version : OMSC October 2024 10-1.

Details regarding how to access the command line interface can be found here on our Wiki: Accessing the command line - General - OSMC

thanks./ i succed to run iperf:

Everything seem to be ok betwwen OSMC and my PC no ?
but i still have 26 secs to wait the first time i seek with OMSC the shared directory on my PC. After the first seek, if i reconned it’s ok (no latency)…
Any advice ?

Could it be the Win11 machine (or the disks) need to wake up?
Alternatively you could try autofs to mount the drives on the Vero.

it work by the past (before update of Vero 4K). My shared disk on PC is SSD and i have the same problem even if i’m using my PC (everythinkg is waked on pc)…

Somehow I am lost, you said you always had a big delay.

My recommendation still is to test autofs.
Otherwise provide debug enabled logs and reproduce the long delay maybe we something in the logs.

no by the past it’s was ok, i 'havent delay. Since fiew month i have … i chech autofs, it’s it possible to mount a distance drive shared by my pc (windows 11). if yes, could you tell me how ? many thanks
