Mp4 stream works fine on PC but not on Vero 4k

I’m using MPV on Linux Mint 18.3 and get perfect performance for mp4 stream, it’s connected via Ethernet. On the Vero, via Wifi, the same and even lower resolution stream stutters, buffers, stalls.

Is this a hardware or software issue? Anything I can do about it.

Hard to say without logs. Have you tried playing locally to see if it’s fine then?

PAPlayer doesn’t really buffer streams, so a slight drop in connectivity can cause issues.

It would also be interesting to know if Wired Ethernet helps.

Will try it with Ethernet.

With locally you mean what? I saved the stream as a m3u8 file to the external HDD and launch it via Filemanager.

Much better with Ethernet, still I wonder since the Vero is only 5 meters away from the Wifi router.

Is it a 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz network?
If you have a 5Ghz network, run it on a different SSID than the 2.4Ghz network.

2.4 it is

2.4Ghz networks are generally subject to more interference. Unfortunately WiFi is quite environmental and can be difficult to debug.

If Ethernet works well for you and you can run it trivially, then I’d recommend sticking with that.
