MP4 Video plays with no Audio

The Vero 4k has be excellent in playing whatever I’ve thrown at it but curiously I found a random MP4 file which it only plays the video part, no audio. The file plays fine in Linux Mint using both SMPlayer and VLC. Also plays fine on a LibreElec generic x86 system.

MediaInfo output:

MP4 File

Unless I’m mistaken, Vero4k doesn’t support sampling rates less than 32k.

Is that true? Hmm, I guess I’ll have to investigate options with respect to repacking that at a higher sampling rate.

Enable AC3 upmixing and all should be fine.

Sampling Rate is definitely odd.

Sam

I tried every audio setting available - simply will not output audio under OSMC.

No big deal, chick-flick anyway. Sorry, honey, something wrong with that movie, doesn’t work///

Robert

I understand you might not want to disclose the source, but if it was an upload, the person who released such a video should be chastised with a rough brush.

If you find any other problematic clips, let me know and we can look in to it.
AC3 upmixing can work around some interesting encodes, but they are very far and few between.

Sam

I have a workaround for this in the next update now that will resolve this.

Sam

No worries Sam, a quick re-encode at a proper sampling rate (video passthrough) with aviDemux took care of things.

@grahamh
Thanks for spotting that, nice work…
