Mythtv goes blank after a few seconds

Hi,
I’ve upgraded to the latest November release today. Everything seems ok except for mythtv playback. I use the pvr.mythtv plugin and it’s been flawless until now.

When selecting a recording to play, you will see normal playback for a few seconds. Then the display goes blank. Sound continues. Note the display is truely blank and even pressing the ok button does not show the usual playback menu. It is clearly working as a second press of ok will pause playback and pressin again resumes. However, during all of this the display is entirely blank. As soon as I press Stop, the playback ends and the display returns.

Suggest to upload debug logs (see second point below)
Can try to disable Adjust Refresh rate (see first point) while I doubt that helps

Settings>Player>Videos>Adjust display refresh rate> On start/stop

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Maybe I was clear on that point, I meant set it to off currently you have it on Always.

Did you try to play a MythTV Recording/Channel in that log? I didn’t see that.

Hi fzinken,
sorry, I had misunderstood your suggestion. WIth refresh set to off, playback does work.

With it set to always I get he symptoms I’ve previously described. I’ve created a new log

I did tail -f the kodi.log and could see activity when I attempted to play a recording. Note that this time I enabled PVR specific logging. Not sure if that was the right thing to do or not.

Are all recordings affected?

Is Live TV affected?

Can you produce a sample recording so we can see if we can reproduce the problem?

Yes, live tv is also affected th same way. I’ve produced a recording that’s just a minute long. Let me know how to get this file to you. It’s 51Mb.
