Network disconnect

Hi
I’m using OSMC latest stable release.
I’ve got the following setup:
Pi 2
Cable network
MySQL on NAS

When I disconnect the network cable (to use it in my XBOX One) the Pi becomes useless (well, d’oh  ). The issue is that when I reconnect the cable OSMC / Kodi just crashes when I try to do play a video. Only way to get it working is a restart by unplugging power and reconnecting power.
Any takes on how to solve it? I would like to be able to disconnect / reconnect network cable without having to reboot the Pi 2.
Bonus info: looking at the System Info it does seem to get an IP…

Hope someone can shed some light on this issue.

Best regards and thanks in advance
/Martin

You should assign static ips to the pi and your nas. Maybe it gets confused if one of them gets a different one via dns.
Also not sure how robust mysql is when polling a non existent network connection. Probably that causes osmc to crash.

I couldn’t live like that.

I would buy a £5 network switch.

Will try this  Thanks

You’re right!
20£ switch ordered :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t deliberately disconnect the network connection on a MySQL install of Kodi - it will cause it to hang.
