Freezes or “buffering”?

Freezes, complete frozen screen for several seconds to over ten seconds at times, last log posted just after movie froze for a long period

Can you turn on debug logging and upload logs again, please?

Hmmm. I can see it’s stalling but don’t know why. Can you try the ‘known good’ clip I linked above?

It won’t let me unfortunately but I have tried 5 different movie options and all have same issue

Is it just 4k clips?

@leeallford You appear to be using SFTP. There’s quite a lot of overhead with that, and that might cause problems with high-bitrate clips.

It’s worth trying playback from a USB thumb drive or copying a file to the local storage as a test.
Usually, users will use SMB or NFS with a NAS device.

Yep – logs show that the buffer is running too low (likely a throughput problem)

grahamh the clip played fine, I will try to set up as NFS or SMB but I think it wouldn’t connect that way yesterday when trying to set it up

Thanks for all the help, had to update Unraid server then set up SMB shares before folders were visible. Don’t want to speak too soon but 20 minutes in to movie and no freezing, I feel like I have learnt a new language and have a big headache now! Thanks all for helping out the newbie
