You may possibly find that accessing an SMB (i.e. Windows) folder at Kodi level doesn’t give you quite enough speed for 4K blu ray rips. Equally, you may well find that it does! But if you do need a little more speed, you can mount the share at OS level and then have Kodi access it as if it were a local folder.
