New Vero 4K+ bricked

Hello,

My new Vero 4K+ was crashing (with the frowny face) about a minute after startup. Then it froze completely (remote control, ssh). I did a hard reset and now it won’t boot.

I managed to recover the system using the toothpick method once but the same scenario repeated. Now even the toothpick doesn’t help. The installer freezes half way through the installation.

Before the device was bricked, I managed to take a quick peek at the log:

$ cat .kodi/temp/kodi.old.log | grep ERROR
2019-05-19 16:01:30.472 T:4065607680 ERROR: DBus error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name org.freedesktop.UPower was not provided by any .service files
2019-05-19 16:01:30.687 T:4065607680   ERROR: GetString: error reading /home/osmc/.kodi/userdata/disp_cap
2019-05-19 16:01:30.688 T:4065607680   ERROR: GetString: error reading /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/vesa_cap

The log snippet doesn’t really tell us much.

Can you try reinstalling OSMC from a different USB / SD card?

Sam

I’ve just tried with a USB and the installer doesn’t even start. BTW I found a full log in the shell history. Here it is: http://paste.osmc.io/usudiwokuq.vala

Please show me a screenshot of the contents of the USB

That looks Ok. If you contact support@osmc.tv we can just swap the device for you.

I’ve received and tested the replacement and it works very well. Thank you!
