I just activated it and it is working fine (I’m using the dev branch):

I tried

http://osmc.tv/rss/

and

https://osmc.tv/rss/

in file /home/osmc/.kodi/userdata/RssFeeds.xmland both worked.

RSS feed URL changed again, now it works again.

This does indeed only affect older installs.
