also “grablogs” command is gone, did you change something here?

The command is grab-logs, not grablogs.
We haven’t changed anything audio related in this update. Please post some full logs so we can look in to this.

So you just have audio output for 2 channel PCM?
Do you hear sound on any files?

Do you hear Kodi menu noises?

Does HDMI audio work?

i allways used analogue out. i can not hear any sound from the device at all, not in the interface, not on videos, not on music files. hdmi audio out is not available anymore in the audio-output-settings (only analogue and s/pdif).

in case some configuration got messed up during update i could restore them from my backup. i just don’t have a clue why it is not working anymore.

Please check you have enabled debug logging in system->Logging and grab-logs again.

What do you see in the system->audio as available devices (3 are shown in the logs) and what did you see before the update?

i see just 2 devices now (see screenshot), before i think i saw hdmi but was not using it (not 100% sure though).

Sorry, we need to see a re-start after debug logging is enabled.

Do you normally get GUI sounds when using chorus? If not, can you use a remote so we can see what happens? And can you attempt to play a music track?

i am not able to set deubg-loggin to “true”. no matter what i do (changed it in the kodi-interface and in guisettings in command line), it allways sets back to “false” after restarting mediacenter or rebooting.

That sounds bad. I know nothing about Vero2, I’m afraid. @sam_nazarko will have to look at it.

I think the filesystem may be corrupted if it is being constantly reset.
I would suggest a reinstallation.

no, tested the filesystem earlyer, everything works as expected. i would really appreaciate to focus on the issue here. i never had to send debugging-logs of kodi, the problem lies deeper in the system anyway (so kodi-logs might not be relevant). i am also not able to play a sound over alsa in commandline …

Did you stop Kodi when you tried to play sound via the command line?

If the issue is outside of Kodi, then it would normally suggest a kernel issue, but this has not been updated for some time.

It’s possible something is hogging the sink. I can see you installed forked-daapd.
My recommendation is to check with a fresh install.

yes, forked-daapd does not play sound as well. disabling it does not change anything for kodi either.

any chance of correcting alsa permissions somehow?
fresh install is out of question, the system works perfectly - it’S just the sound that is not working …

If the sound is not working, then the system is not working perfectly. Plus you cannot enable debug logging (sounds permission related)

Unfortunately it looks like you have made a lot of changes to that system, particularly with packages, so it is hard to speculate what has changed.

yes, thats exactly why fresh install is not an option for me. i mean eveything else but the sound works perfectly.

It looks like you installed PulseAudio at some point.
I would check that is fully removed.

You also have a lot of X11 packages from installing a VNC server.
