I’m not sure why you are using an experimental (staging) repository then.
You can use apt-cache search rbp2-image to find the last kernel and install it.

I am struggling with the same exact issue with my go to remote, Rii with dongle and Yatse (android phone). I don’t use Yatse often at all but tried it to assure this is not a remote control issue and It doesn’t function anymore either. After this last update first few reboots got onscreen error’s stating remote server failed to start. If I reboot a few times and move the Rii dongle to other USB port I can get it and the Yatse working again but there is defiantly a bug in the last update. That said this is my first issue ever using the vero4k+ after 8 or so months of use, otherwise very happy.
Doesn’t sound like the same issue if you are having problems using a smartphone. Logs under a new post would be the best idea
