No sound with Dolby Digital plus 7.1

I have no sound when playing movies with Dolby Digital+ 7.1 AC3. What could be the reason? Movies with Dolby Digital+ 5.1 AC3 work.

Hi,

Please change the resolution to 1080p and change Adjust Refresh Rate to Always.

Sam

Is that a bug? Will this be fixed with update?

Did you follow the instruction above?

Just tested it. But it doesn’t work. The DD+ 7.1 sound remains silent.

However, I have a film here that works with 1080p and 2160p resolution. The movie has DD+ 7.1@896 kbs. The movies that don’t work have DD+ 7.1@640 kbs

The bitrate shouldn’t make a difference. Some debug logs showing you play both files should give us some clues.

When filming without sound, the picture starts to freeze after a while.

Those two files appear to be the same content but the one that doesn’t have sound is remuxed (from the file title). Could it just be that one is a bad rip/remux?

They are two different files but the same movie.

Why a bad Remux? The sound track works on the PC and Oppo. Just not about Vero4K.

We are getting these errors:

Can you upload a clip from that file somewhere so we can investigate?

Here’s a clip:

Thanks. I can reproduce the issue on the German audio track (track 1). The English one plays fine as TrueHD 7.1. That suggests it’s clipped from the ‘with sound’ video, so now I’m confused.

In the clip, the German DD+ 7.1 (1st track) also remains silent on my Vero.

In the video above with sound, it’s a different track.

I can play both the German and English tracks fine when not using passthrough. Since the German track is not Atmos, you could turn passthrough off.

I’m talking about passthrough playback! Can you play the clip with passthrough German DD+ 7.1 sound?

No I can’t. But if there’s no Atmos, it should sound the same with or without passthrough. Not ideal, maybe, but a workaraound.

And you can’t find out why passthrough doesn’t work?

I’m not an expert on Kodi’s a/v synchronisation, which seems to be the problem. But I expect someone else might help.

Maybe sam_nazarko can help?

Looks like a bad rip.
