Not directly Vero but related

Among other things I use my Vero 4k+ to play MKV files that have atmos audio as its one of the few things to do this.

The only way I can tell if its atmos is to actually play the file and see what my AVR tells me the sound form is. The vero just says Dolby and Media info is no more help. Is there any software tool to say if its Atmos ?

Thnaks

MediaInfo might help you.

depending on your skin, they often list audio format in the ui

Thanks for the skin suggestion, I tried all 4 and still got the same info (DD+ 5.1), and no atmos

check here as I think you have atmos already: https://www.reddit.com/r/hometheater/comments/6zuagf/what_is_the_difference_between_dolby_digital_plus/

I do , but the vero only says Dolby until I actually play the file, and so does media info. I just wanted a way to find out if it was Atmos with out getting the AVR to play the file.

Agree with @Chang_loo - MediaInfo does show this

As Dolby Atmos in home cinema equipment is embedded inside a Dolby TrueHD or Dolby Digital Plus stream, some tools just see the main stream without checking for (or differentiating for) sub-stream data.

Sortted thanks. I was only aware of mediainfo from with in MPC-HC which I use to play files on my PC, this only says DD+ or DD True HD for atmos files.

I have just installed the standalone media info program and that tells me its Atmos.
