I just installed the November 2025 update on my Vero V, and my remote control has failed.
This is not a battery issue, the OSMC remote shows a blue light when pressing buttons, and I can place it in pairing mode without any issue.
The sequence was that I received a notice that there was a new update. Using the remote, I selected for the update to go ahead. Perhaps an important issue is that the update failed on screen (as has been typical for recent updates), so I had to use the command line to repeat the update.
Upon restarting, the remote no longer works.
I cannot find anything online about how to place the Vero V into “pairing mode” so that it will accept the re-pair command from the remote.
Please help.
Okay I think I’ve determined there is a hardware issue. Why this came up at the same time as an update is strange.
I opened my Vero V to try to re-pair the remote, by disconnecting the RF receiver on the internal USB port, setting the OSMC remote to pairing mode, and then re-inserting the dongle. This failed.
However, when I did the same thing but used the external USB2 port, it worked.
Putting the dongle back into the internal port failed again.
So, it seems that the internal port is dead.
Doing some troubleshooting it also seems that the external USB3 port is dead too; trying to access my external HDD through that port instead of the USB2 port (which is what I used to use, but is now occupied by the RF receiver) doesn’t work.
I presume my Vero V hardware is broken somehow?
