Open VPN troubles

After many many troubles I,ve managed to get an open vpn connection to my home network running using the Brian Hornsby addon.

But I am failing on the fininshing line, I can not find my network shares, neither trough smb or nfs.
Any helpful suggestions?

Well the question is how did you configure openvpn? Did you configure correct LAN to LAN routing?

The logs are not working but in general I suggest you upload your server and client configs (use paste-log)
And maybe as a first step show the LAN on your client and Server as well as ip ro from your client.

config ovpn: https://pastebin.pl/view/5343fdcc

server config I do not know which file that would be? It is a VPN server run by my Vilfo router and works well when connecting with my windows computer.

My file server is a Synology NAS and configured for both nfs and smb

Can you give me some terminal commands for showing LAN? I’ll supply you with what you need but are a bit lost

this is ip ro on the osmc:

osmc@Bishop:~$ ip ro
0.0.0.0/1 via 172.16.1.1 dev tun0
default via 192.168.86.1 dev wlan0
94.254.18.73 via 192.168.86.1 dev wlan0
128.0.0.0/1 via 172.16.1.1 dev tun0
172.16.1.0/24 dev tun0 proto kernel scope link src 172.16.1.2
192.168.86.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.86.30
192.168.86.1 dev wlan0 scope link

Ok, sorry for that I didn’t know you had your key/certs in the config. So this unfortunately means you have to recreate the certs as your server is at danger.

Just execute ip addr

But as you are actually sending all traffic through the tunnel that shouldn’t be you issue.
So you may have to check if on your file server and router the routing to the client is known.

I actually removed a couple of lines from the certs before posting, but thanks anyway

How can I do this?

Can you ping the IP addresses of the router and Synology NAS?

ping -c2 <IP address>

No I can’t, so I guess you have pinpointed the problem here.
Pinging works fine on my windows machine connecting from the same location to the same vpn server

How do I proceed?

This is really confusing that it works from the Windows machine.
I suggest to check on your router when the OSMC client is connected if there is a route back to the IP of the OSMC machine.

ping -c2 172.16.1.3 you mean?
That does work. However the windows machine can not ping the vero4k+ and the vero can’t ping the windows machine on the next ip over (guess the last is a given when it can’t reach the router)

Well i meant check ip ro on the router. Do you have a route to 192.168.86.0/24?
It could be that OSMC is not sending the Tunnel IP as source?

Also why 172.16.1.3? The OSMC device on your top list has the 172.16.1.2!

I have gone from using same ip for both windows machine and vero, giving vero a separate vpn user, so its new ip is 172.16.1.3

But now I have gotten some support from the vilfo router people and changed subdomain of the home router from which I am connecting, (some of) the trouble apparently was that both used the same.

That did the trick, now I’m just hoping the setup will be fast enough to watch my movies through
