I was just thinking about updating the Hyperion release but wasn’t unsure about the right procedure…
I recloned the repo, should I deinstall and then reinstall or can I go straight to “install from binaries”
I suppose when I deinstall I’ll loose my config?
Edit: nevermind - gave myself the answer … just reinstalled with option one - everything works
Hello. I just installed hyperion.ng on a fresh system (Vero 4k +) but lightberry is not working. I cannot login to the hyperion 8090 panel. Before the last update osmc everything was fine. Anyone help ??

git clone GitHub - hissingshark/hyperion-vero4k: Automated build and default install of Hyperion.ng on the Vero4K (OSMC)
cd hyperion-vero4k
sudo ./install.sh
Should it be like that? No error pops up, but the LEDs are off. Access to the <my.ip: 8090> page is not available.
Please help. I do not know what to do

You might try running the binary directly to see if there’s any clue as to why the service is failing to start:

If there are no errors there, you might try the checking the existence of the binaries:

As Tom Doyle says, the output highlights one missing library:
libpcre16.so.3
An easy fix for you. It’s odd this is only an issue now though. Perhaps a Buster thing. You’d have been fine if you were building from source. Installing from binary is the issue. I’m fixing that in the installer now.
FYI - If you didn’t spot the typo in the command it’s:
sudo apt-get install libpcre16-3

This does sound like a configuration problem now. If Hyperion wasn’t compiled properly you wouldn’t get any USB output.
Some of these kits have some odd LED strips that require specific configuration.
Did they all work previously?
A darker room would help the photo. And an image with some bold colours as a test pattern to see what should be displayed where.
Yes the led strips worked fine, I had no trouble with them

after enabling the Enable USB capture grabber option,
the backlight disappears on vero (no matter if the image from an external device is fed or not). After switching the source to ps4, the backlight is but very faint
(after switching off ps4 and going to vero, the backlight is missing)
Sorry, I’m confused that you have USB grabbing available. I thought you were using the builtin grabber and driving a the LEDs over USB. What exactly is the layout of this Lightberry setup?
Right, so looking at the manual you are basically using an external USB grabber in one port and some sort of LED driver over the other USB port. Some basic rainbow type test images or starkly coloured video would make things more obvious, but it looks like things work ok when you are using the internal AML-grabber for Kodi playback.
When it’s the internal framebuffer-grabber for the menus the LEDs then aren’t mapped properly.
If you are using the external grabber the colour level is very low (I assume the PS4 was showing an all red screen for some reason? Not a great test image for working out mapping problems).
The missing lights when you go back to the Vero I assume are because you are still using the external USB grabber, so there are no colours to map?
When you say things worked ok before, what was the setup difference? Is this since updating from Stretch to Buster? New Vero?
Again, seeing the output from hyperiond --debug
as you make these changes might give a clue as to what it is trying to do.
Also, in the setting image the hardware LED count was set to 1. That should 129 based upon your other images.
