OSMC and the new Official Raspberry Display

Hello
I got the new 7" display from Raspberry Pi. It is adviced to run
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo rpi-update
Can this cause any harm?

That will not cause any harm, but proper support for the display will not appear until the September update.
