Hi, I’m trying to use the osmc backup script created by graham8 to backup all the system, but I’m getting a lot of the following errors (related to tvheadend but also kodi):
rsync: chown “/mnt/usb/osmcbackup/2020-11-30/system/home/osmc/.hts/tvheadend/epggrab/otamux/.09bff7a6cbe9bfbb2e80d05c6d958843.OlgIn3” failed: Operation not permitted (1)
I’m running with sudo.

Are you sure kodi (mediacenter) and tvheadend are stopped properly before the backup starts? (it’s part of the script). Those files may be in use.
Having said that,I’ve no idea why rsync wants to chown anything. 
Yes they are stopped, here is another error:
rsync: symlink “/mnt/usb/osmcbackup/2020-11-30/system/bin/bzcmp” -> “bzdiff” failed: Operation not permitted (1)
ok, appears to be solved. My USB stick was formatted with fat32, I formatted it again with ext4. Thanks.
You should have got a warning message on the console if you were running it manually.
