OSMC crashes regularely when reading photo folders with large pictures

Hello, I am using OSMC 2018-10 on a Raspberry Pi 3, and I have a lot of trouble viewing photos, because OSMC regularely crashes not only when displaying, but also when simply loading folders containing big images from a DSLR, for example stitched files with a high resolution.

Is this a know bug, or which kind of information do I need to provide in order to examine this phenomenon? I have the feeling that the alogrithms used by OSMC for loading and displaying photos are far from being optimal :frowning:

Yes, there are know issues with Kodi loading large image folders. There are suppose to be some improvements with Kodi v18 but I believe it will not magically becoming a proper solution for quality photo display.

Thanks, although off-topic: which app for watching photos on the raspi can you recommend?

Well if you mean outside of Kodi you would need to install a X-Server and then could use any Linux app available.
