OSMC keeps re-installing itself on reboot

I’ve recently installed OSMC on my ATV1 on the HDD and the install works fine but everytime it reboots, it re-formats and re-installs and the 2nd install fails (gets stuck on “Installing Files”) and then I have to reload the USB and then redo the install (i.e. basically it’s unusable as any reboot / power outage will require a complete re-install.

Thanks for the quick response. I was just going through the OSMC installer for Windows and it gives two images to select (10.2.hdd or 10.2.usb). I selected 10.2.hdd which I thought meant it was installing to the HDD. Maybe that’s my problem (not leaving the USB stick in the ATV.
