OSMC not booting

I have been having a problem with osmc. This is a topic I have seen a bit on the forums. the thing that happening is that osmc does not show up on my monitor I just get a no signal and it goes on to standby but the on light on the pi is on. I have tried HDMI Hotplug. but it does not work. I am using a Raspberry Pi2 and my monitor is VGA only; for this i use a HDMI to VGA adapter, Could this be the problem?

any help please?!

Some questions:

So you are talking about first boot of the installer I assume?
Really nothing on the screen at all?
Have you tried other OS like Raspbian?
After you try to boot can you check the SD card in a PC? Is there an install log on the boot partition, what does it say?

I have a problem same as Dubbed wz osmc. My Pi3 is happening that osmc does not show up on my monitor on my car and my TV. I have to format and reinstall osmc again 2nd times. :frowning: It really make me tied.

No I can boot up and install fine bit after i shutdown my pi it wont boot again. There is nothing on the screen at all. I have tried to install kodi on rasbian but with no success. I will post the boot logs when I find them

thank you

Ok, looks all good.
So now back to troubleshooting:

  1. After rebooting is there really nothing on the screen? No boot logo no command line output?
  2. What brand/type is your SD Card?
  3. When you booted (nothing on the screen) can you ping the IP Address of OSMC (assuming that you know from your router which IP is assigned to OSMC)

Also, can you log into your OSMC Pi using ssh? (Check your router for connected devices to find the IP address)
