OSMC @ RPi 2 - minimum sd write speed?

Hello all!

My OSMC is way too slow nowadays on my RPi2. I’ve taken the sd card out and benchamarked read & write speeds: 3.66 MBps write speed and 48 MBps read speed. Is this enough for a smooth Kodi experience, or is my class 10 sd card faulty?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,
Pedro

The 4k random read/write speeds are what matters, what are they??

How can I test that with OS X ?

Not sure on OSX I use CrystalDiskMark on Windows, maybe chgeck this out osx sd speed test - Recherche Google

It’s hard to evaluate whether your card is good or bad, because you’ve only told us two metrics, but we do not know of the circumstances in which they were tested.

4MB/s write suggests Class 4 really. If that’s a consecutive write, it’s not good, and 4K random would likely be worse. But without knowing more it’s hard to speculate.

The two cards I can recommend are the OSMC one and the official NOOBS card. Samsung Evo was the talk of the town lately, but I have seen some reports of reliability issues.

Thank you all for your replies. I can only test it again in 2 weeks since I do not have the card with me. Will then update this post.
