I have my RPi2 device set to automatically check for updates once a day. whenever my TV I see an “OSMC Update Error” message.
I make update manually
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
This appears:
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

We need to see logs.
grab-logs -A
Please enable debug logging in Kodi and enable all the options in MyOSMC or use grab-logs -A.
Running into the same problem.
Can’t update and my time is way off.
Tried to change in regional settings but to no luck. Showing PM instead of AM as well.
Check your network conntection
Very good.
Somehow, it corrected itself.
Must of been my internet provider.

It looks like a network problem. I’d suggest you simply re-run the apt-get update/dist-upgrade. The Kodi log also shows network-related errors.
Yes I restarted apt-get update / dist-upgrade and it happened.
I can now update via osmc.
