OSMC Vero V Review

Hi guys, I bought today Vero V. And I have a question. What for is “Exit” button in Power menu? Because when I pressed it. My Varo get stuck and I had to unplugged it.

And I also had a few crashes with blue screen and sad smile when I was making my library. Is it normal?

The exit option is to get to the command line.

You might have some corrupted files in your library which crashed Kodi.

We have done what we can. I think most users are grateful that we still continue to support this format:

Thanks for reply. But when I press it. Something should happen, not freeze the device. Or?

Kodi will quit, show the OSMC splash and if you don’t press anything to login, it will re-launch after some time.

If it’s not closing, you may have an add-on preventing Kodi from exiting.

I know it’s not what you want but I have to admit that it’s kind of cool looking.

I don’t mind a retro look either, but lets start with it too then

It’s either a regression in Shadertoy or a GLES regression. If someone could copy the faulty version to a 4K+ and test it would be interesting.

I am away for a few days but can test later.

Is this on your radar as well @sam_nazarko?
Nothing major, but just that it isn’t forgotten.

Would be useful to know if the version from Vero 4K + works fine.

The latest version I used was running fine, without these kind of blocking, on my Vero4K (non-plus).

Is there anything special I need to do to reproduce the problem?

Sam

Nope, just like @darwindesign play some sound and set Shadertoy to the same preset I used and you will see it happening while the time progresses.

4K still works just fine even with v21 beta…

The V running v20 staging still has the issue…

That’s weird – because I can’t think of differences.

At first I suspected GLESv2 vs GLESv3 but that would only affect staging and not previous builds.
Could you try copy the faulty version from the V and see if that causes problems on the 4K/4K+?

It might actually be an issue with the graphics implementation on Vero V and not the add-on itself.

You made that sound like it was going to be a simple task to figure out. :poop:

Running shadertoy 20.3.0 that was pulled from a V on my 4K works without an issue.

Thanks for confirming. That means it’s not a Kodi issue or build environment issue.

Must be something Mali related. I’ll see what I can work out and also contact the Shadertoy maintainer.
