OSMC's August update is here with Kodi 21.1 - OSMC

We've been very busy behind the scenes and we're now happy to announce the availability of Kodi v21 (codename Omega) for all OSMC supported devices. All devices supported by OSMC on Kodi v20 remain supported for Kodi v21.

Made a complete clean install of my Vero V but now it’s impossible to download and install Aeon Nox SiLVO skin.

Thanks

I do not have any “look & feel” section, so no skins in the official repository.

Thank you!

There were two little glitches on my Rpi 400:

  • Clock displayed in the GUI was UTC. Open&close the timezone settings in Region-settings fixed it.
  • Favourites did not open. Fixed permissions of ~/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.skinshortcuts/* and reselected the Favourites-Entry in Skin-settings (=>“favouritebrowser”).

Most likely you will need to install from a ZIP file.

HTH,
R.

I also tried via the .zip file but unsuccessfully.

I had the same clock glitch.

Hi Sam,

After Vero V update all mkv movies are unwatchable. They stutters very much. UI is working very well. CPU and memory usage is small. I don’t know where is the problem. Any sugestions?

Best regards

Open a new post and share debug enabled logs.

Problem solved

I used ssh command sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get dist-upgrade and rebooted system.

I don’t know why but now it is working great.

Best regards

Yes. I think everyone will get this. The fix is just needed once in my experience.

Mine were OK - osmc:osmc. Don’t know what could cause that.

My OSMC / Network throws an exception:

error <general>: EXCEPTION Thrown (PythonToCppException) : -->Python callback/script returned the following error<--

Note: /etc/default/crda doesn’t exist on my system (4K) and wouldn’t (usually) be writeable by others than root anyway. Also, WIFI is disabled.

Cheers

I updated my Vero 4K and got a message that my installed skin (aeon nox silva) would be removed. It isn’t compatible apparently anymore?

Is anyone else seeing their system freeze after the update?

My VeroV has been rock solid since I got it during the pre-launch, but after the update it randomly freezes the entire system (to the degree that I can’t even SSH into it as it becomes unreachable).

@ gpmc
Might be worth taking it up with the Skin developer?

Froze after installing update. Rebooted all good. Aeon nox silvo disabled with message not compatible.
Went into my apps and when i clicked to enable skin it updated and worked perfectly.
Considering the scale of the upgrade the fact it updated without needing a fresh install is a bonus and even with the minor hiccup it only took a few minutes to be fully up and running

Same and resolved by the settings menu enter / close…

I’ll try to flash Vero V back to 20.5, install Aeon Nox Sivlo and then update to 21.1.
Let’s see if this procedure will work for me.

That won’t really make a difference. Kodi’s skinning engine is different in Kodi v21, so skins have to be compatible with it.

It should be as simple as uninstalling and reinstalling the skin. Same for any skin: provided the developer has updated it.

Skin Aeon Nox Silvo is already available for Kodi 21.
I’ve got it perfectly running on my Ugoos AM6B+.
