Does the Updated Vero V WiFi driver fix the issues with the Vero V and freezing?
Hi @thansen_dk
That wasn’t part of the October update but part of our August update with Kodi v21.1. It did resolve the problem for a number of this that reported it.
Sam
Thank you so much for the great work!
Before this update and after the previous one I had trouble with my Movies list freezing all the time when selecting a movie or leaving it. Glad that’s finally solved! I was worried my setup was fried.
Another thing that I find quite surprising is the fact that Dolby Vision files now play as normal HDR on my Vero 4k+. That’s amazing! Yet I can only find information about that for the Vero V.
If anyone - won’t have to be busy mods or Sam - could link more information about these two issues, I’d love to learn more. Cheers!
Now? What happened before? Vero 4k+ has never supported DV Profile 5 and will just play the base layer (SDR, HDR10 or HLG) of Profiles 4, 7 or 8.
Before it was always the unwatchable magenta / green problem whenever I tried a DV file.
Might be that retail Blu-rays include the HDR10 base layer while web files did not and now that has changed or I just got unlucky earlier. Apparently the base layer is only mandatory on Blu-rays.
Web files are likely Profile 5 which will indeed show up as magenta/green with vero 4k+. Blu-rays play the HDR10 base layer.
