Particular 4k DV video file exhibits flickering

Hi Folks

I have successfully played various 4k DV movies from my Vero V since the update, however I have come across one file which flickers intermittently - very frequently/rapidly, but not constantly. It’s disruptive to the point of unwatchable though.

My TV is an LG C1.

Can anyone spot something that might be causing the flickering, please?

Can you share a sample that reproduces this problem?

Sure thing. Sorry to be a dummy, Sam, but how best would I go about that?

Any advice on making a sample/of what size and how/where to upload it would be appreciated. Not something I’ve done before.

Are you familiar with MKVToolNix?
If so, you can tell it to split your video into one minute chunks and then just share the chunk that best shows the issue and delete the other chunks.

Like so:

Alternatively, you could tell us what movie it is and at what time in the movie playback the issues occur and one of us may have it and we can check it.

We had a problem with Morbius but fixed it. Video was rapidly switching between DV and non-DV.

We can check @Bisonator’s sample if he can upload it somewhere (Google Drive maybe?)

Yes, I’ve used MKVToolNix; not for this tho. Thanks for your help!

Here you go, Graham:

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Yeah, that looks like a similar problem to Morbius.

Which you mentioned you’ve fixed, is that right? Will the fix be available soon?
Thanks

Correction: it was Morbius that had the problem. That is Profile 7 like your clip.

No promises. I don’t understand why Morbius is OK but yours isn’t.

ok - will stay tuned with fingers crossed!

I have that movie.
I’ll check my remux and your sample and report back.

*** EDIT ***
Okay, it’s not just the first movie either.
I can’t even get my TV to display the first two movies at all.
I just get a black screen and I can hear the audio playing.
The third movie will actually give me video but it does the flashing.
I checked you demo file and it flashes just like the third movie did for me.
I didn’t even get to the fourth, the fifth, or Bumblebee and my entire system went into a fit switching inputs like crazy.
My TV kept switching to between HDMI 1 (which has nothing plugger into it) and HDMI 2 (which has my soundbar) and my sound bar was switching around as well.
It was like my CEC was possessed.
I literally had to turn everything off and they would turn themselves and each other back on so I had to do a full shut down of everything.

I was on MakeMKV v1.16.3 when I remuxed that collection.
I’m going to remux the first one again and see if anything changes.

*** EDIT 2 ***
All the Transformer movies before Bumblebee are messed up. Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts play fine. I’m going to redo that set and see what happens.

*** UPDATE ***
I grabbed my Transformer disc and redid it and now it will actually play the video but it flashes just like your demo does.
This is with MakeMKV v1.17.8.
