PGS subtitles appearing dark grey in HDR

No, I tested with Kodi v21.3 on Windows. As long as HDR is enabled in the Windows Display Settings, Kodi in HDR mode shows HDR subs correctly, exactly like a UHD Blu-ray player.

Thanks for confirming. That’s weird as the patches in CPM/avdvplus/pannal builds aren’t in the standard Kodi 21.3 afaik.

I guess Kodi on Windows uses some Windows functionality for this as HDR PGS is only correct on Windows.

I’m looking into this but I can’t download that file. It says the owner has disabled downloads. FWIW the bit of The Godfather @ac16161 sent us 4 (!) years ago plays reasonably well here - subs are at least yellow, not grey, but arguably not ‘gold’. Would that have been a different version?

I haven’t downloaded May OSMC yet, via FEL the Godfather subs are ok with OSMC but better with avdvplus CE.
