I make a fresh install of the newest OSMC its pretty fast on new sd card which i eject from my phone.
Now i start to configure hifiberry exactly like there
https://www.hifiberry.com/guides/configure-osmc-for-hifiberry/
None of that is really necessary. The 4 steps from my link above should be all that is required.
- Programs → OSMC Settings → Pi Config → Hardware Support → Soundcard Overlay
I chose “hifiberry-digi-overlay”.- Programs → OSMC Settings → Pi Config → Hardware Support
I disabled “Enable LIRC GPIO support”- reboot OSMC
- Settings → System → Audio Output → Audio output device
Here I chose "ALSA: Default (snd_rpi_hifiberry_digi S/PDIF).
Everything ok, but still the silence.
i again run dmesg

Anyone can help me ?
1 thing i did not see in the thread above
go to: system/settings/system/audio output/enable passthrough
hope it helps
I’ve been trying with passthrough ON and OFF and still the silence
SPDIF are lighting, all conections to external DAC is ok.
stupid question maybe. i gues you try to make optical working.
is it possible to switch to a coax cable and connect that to your amplifier to see if that is working.
ps had same probleems with digi+ ,i used the wrong input in my amplifier
hehe thanks for new idea… but it’s dosn’t work too still silence.
I have just the device you bought. It works over spdif for me. Video jitters in OSMC, bit not in OpenElec. Anyway, I’ll do a clean setup with the latest version one of these days and post the steps here, maybe it helps you…
