I’m currently running osmc bookworm on a raspberry pi4. Besides kodi I have installed many other packages, especially the smarthome environment fhem. From within fhem I do access some GPIO ports. Everything is working fine.
But if trixie will become available, there are many rumors within the Net that GPIO access will no longer be supported by accessing /sys/class/gpio. Many even report that that fails even on bookworm. For me it’s working fine with bookworm - no problem (but I had to tweak access rights).
The current recommendations point to the tool pinctrl, which shall be available starting with bookworm
To prepare my migration towards trixie, I’d like to use pinctrl even now. And that’s my question: Howto get pinctrl for osmc bookworm? It should be part of the package raspi-utils, but that’s not known to apt.
Or ist there any other recommended solution to access GPIO ports from within trixie?
