Playback issues with 4K Videos on a Vero V

Hi,

I have a Vero V (current update) connected to Denon X3800H which is connected to a Philips 77OLED849 4K TV. The problem that I keep experiencing is as follows:
when starting a 4K video playback works fine as long as I don’t go into the menu. Once I open the menu, for example when setting subtiles or changing the audio track, the sound “restarts” every 30 seconds or so with the osmc payback gui shortly popping up for a fraction of a second.
Stopping the video and starting it again does not help I have to reboot the vero v to fix the issue. If I don’t go into the menu while playback the video runs fine, from start to finish. I tried to find related issues but have difficulties coming up with the right searches.
Btw. adjust Display Refresh Rate is set to on start right now (it was set to start/stop before but it does not affect this issue). And I tried quite a few different files by now.
Hopefully somebody can point me into the right direction for fixing this.

This is an odd issue.

Can you upload some logs so we can investigate this further?

Did the Denon or Philips device recently receive a software update?

Can you also explain what you mean by restart in detail? Maybe a video would help us understand the problem

Hi Sam,

thanks for your reply. I will try to record a video to show what really happens and upload the log files for what you see in the video. It might take a few days thoo. Both the Denon and the Philips didn’t receive any software updates for a while AFAIK. If the culprit was a software update of the philips it would probably be related to CEC, right?

Hi,
just as a quick update. I have issues finding out to replicate the issues. I think it only happens with 4k videos but I’m still unsure about the circumstances under which the issues manifest. Yesterday for example I had a video which did not want to play well so I shut everything down and got everything ready to record a video but when I startet everything again the video played fine no matter what I did, i’m a bit at a loss here.

Yeah, I would say about 1/5 times I play a Video maybe a bit less since setting subtitles to automatic.
