Playback problems with HD records

Hi
User experience just know. The file was recorded (french TNT HD) by TVheadend.
When we play the record, screen freeze , and when the record continue the sound
was no more synchronized.
A first time stop and restart the file works, but a little later the sound was another time desynchronized. Stop and restart not work more.

Is your TVHeadend up to date?

Sometimes older versions can produce files with incorrect headers.

TVheadend server from app store.
And another record works fine this afternoon.
The file is 3GO, a smaller sample i Try tomorrow morning.

You are right. Basically it’s seem to be a record issue, tvheadend or weather conditions.

I try to read the file with VLC, and MPV, VLC can repair the file for 99 %, MPV also but 90 %.
Kodi 16 can’t do it perhaps Kodi 17 can more.

The work around for not lose the record, use HandBrake to copy the file. Handbrake also repair for 99 %. And Kodi can read the new file.

Sam, I understand that you don’t will use the TVheadend testing 4.1xx serie, but perhaps it’s possible to update the store from TVheadend 4.07 -> 4.09.

Not sure how an upgrade of the tvheadend server would improve signal quality. Would be great if you can show the respective section in changelog

The issue is not always signal quality, but headers or muxing. For some reason TVHeadend is notorious for doing strange things that can cause some slight playback issues

I will update TVH to 4.0.9 in the next update, however I would like someone to test it first. I will send you a link when it is ready for testing

I’m also interested in testing TVH 4.0.9 as I’m using a single RPi 3 as both a backend and frontend for live TV.

I don’t know much about TVHeadend, but believe it scans passively, so may take a bit of time for Services to appear.

Sometimes perhaps yes, but now 5 -6 hours ??
And the Avahi message ?
I have take a look to Google, some hits, but it’s not for me …
With GUI debug setting no more informations.

Perhaps SpaceCoyote have some more informations.
