Playback randomly exiting on PM4K

I just got (re) set up after a big move and I am experiencing a weird new issue when playing back higher bitrate content (i.e. 4k Remuxes) via Plex PM4K on my Vero V. I am using wired gigabit and direct play to my plex server. It’ll playback sometimes for a few minutes and sometimes only for a few seconds before playback just exits back to PM4K. It navigates to the screen as if I just finished the movie. There’s no freezing or hanging which is the weirdest thing to me, it’s just gracefully exiting.

Here are some logs:

Native Kodi playback via nfs/fstab is flawless so I have that as a workaround. I am not having any issue streaming my 4k remuxes via Plex on other client devices, just the Vero V is giving me issues. I am also not having any issues playing back lower bitrate content like 4k webrips. Any clues in the logs?

I don’t know what is going on for you with this issue but I’m currently playing a 4K HDR rip through the same version 1.0.6 as you and not seeing the same issue. I did notice one thing though. I hadn’t run it for a while and had it both update and require me to login again. After doing that it popped up a dialog that asked permission to add entries to my advancedsettings.xml file stating that directplay would not work correctly without this modification. I did not see any of these entries in your advancedsettings.xml file. Perhaps you could uninstall the add-on and install it again and that would correct this?

Hey I tried a full uninstall and reinstall but did not get a popup dialog. Any chance you can share your advancedsettings.xml and I can diff it with mine?

A diff isn’t going to help as the entries are specific to a person’s network as they are a bunch of entries with LAN and WAN IP addresses along with what appears to be some kind of Plex account identifier. You would see at the end of your userdata advancedsettings.xml file a section that starts with…
<hosts><!-- managed by PM4K -->
followed by a bunch of lines with different networking information. Maybe dig through that addons settings to see if you can spot something relevant, reset them to default, or manually delete ~/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/script.plexmod and restart Kodi to get a fresh config.

At the risk of jinxing it… I MAY have resolved this. Within PM4K I changed Kodi Readfactor from Adaptive to 5, and changed Kodi buffer size from 659 to 512MB. Since then, I was able to get through all of Warfare 4k remux once without any issues.
