Playing video content that isn't in an MKV container shows 'working' and then errors

Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered, but a scan of the forum didn’t show anything that looked to be appropriate.

I am having problems since a recent patch (in the last 10 days or so). Trying to play any content which isn’t packaged as an MKV takes ages to go through ‘working’, and then eventually errors. This is content hosted on an SMB share and that was working perfectly until recently. This applies to at least: wmv, mp3, webm, avi. If I repackage them as mkv, they are immediately playable.

The source media comes from a ton of differing sources, and will be differing resolutions, bitrates, etc etc.

Any thoughts would be gratefully appreciated

Thanks,

Rich

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. Please see How to submit a useful support request - General - OSMC for advice on how to help us.

To elaborate on my first post:

Device is an RPI2, running the latest auto-update release. Only peripheral is a simple wireless keyboard to usb dongle. The issue is 100% repeatable, and the same media worked perfectly up to about 10 days ago, give or take.

Logs (these do not include the kodi logs, I get an error whenever I try and include them):
http://paste.osmc.io/omidijelex

Mediainfo output:
http://paste.osmc.io/izogiyegit

If I manually filter the kodi log looking for errors, I see the following:

10:08:03 67.099274 T:1827062768 ERROR: ffmpeg[6CE6C3F0]: [mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2] error reading header
