Problem playing music using iOS MusicRemote app

I have the latest version of Kodi (March 2025 update) installed on my Vero V.

When I use the supplied Vero V remote to navigate Kodi’s UI on screen I have no problems playing music and I can play Atmos gaplessly as a single mka file (either chapterless with cue sheet or with chapters following the upgrade to 21.2)

However, if I use the iOS MusicRemote, files play with stutter and dropouts and do not play gaplessly. If I recall this was not the case prior to 21.2, but I have rolled back the firmware to last November and last March and the same problem occured. I much prefer using the MusicRemote app than navigating Kodi onscreen.

I have rebooted the Vero V twice and replicated the problem playing Abbey Road. Log link is https://paste.osmc.tv/uwobananac

I have tried tried reinstalling the app and also tried with the official Kodi app and the problem remains.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Anyone able to offer any advice on this? I don’t have the knowledge to interpret the logs.

Many thanks

Can you try upload a log where it plays as expected, reboot and upload one where it doesn’t?

Sam

Thanks Sam,

Here is the log when playing via the on-screen Kodi UI : https://paste.osmc.tv/vilofafuka

Here is the log when accessing via the iOS MusicRemote app: https://paste.osmc.tv/ovenobewek

Cheers

Anyone have any ideas about what the problem might be?

Thanks

Sorry for missing this, I’ll check in a few hours

No problem and thanks for the help.

This isn’t forgotten. I could just see no obvious reason for the disparity.
Are you able to reproduce it using Kodi on another platform like a PC?

Thanks Sam. Am not currently able to link up a computer with my system. I will have a play with some of the settings and see if I can sort it.

OK, keep me posted.

Quick update - problem appears to be with my network. Am now using a disk attached to the VeroV via USB and this appears to have solved the problem. Fingers crossed!

If you configure a system mount for that network share and then configure Kodi to use the mount point instead of a network path (ie let the operating system deal with the networking instead of Kodi) that might also work around whatever the problem is…

Thanks for the advice. I’ll look into it :grinning:
