I mean I get 8 channels. My AVR indicates 3/4/1.
Hmmm within Kodi I sometimes get only 4 channels as well and other times 6 or 8 depending on the source.
The weird thing is that my OSD displays it as DD+ and the channel check seems to be ok.
[edit] just checked the same file on my Shield, the kodi log also says 4 channels, so seems to be more a file or kodi issue then an osmc issue. [/edit]

Kodi sample is in AC3 core+extension Blu-ray Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 format.

Tested this here as well with a test clip…
The skin infolabel is reporting DD+ 5.1, Kodi’s process player info dialog is reporting 4 RAW channels and my Denon AVR plays 7.1 channels DD+ correctly. So, for me it’s “just” a matter of Kodi showing wrong information, but the AVR receives and plays it correctly.
