Problem with CEC + Panasonic TV-55Z90BEB (Vero V)

Hi,

Just got my Vero V, on setting it up having a small problem with the CEC.

The TV remote will not work until I either go into the CEC settings in Kodi and just click Ok to exit
or I disable and re enable CEC in Kodi and then click OK.

The TV remote will start working! I have tried to find a way to script this without luck. I have been testing in SSH and I can’t get it working. So requesting help.

I have enabled Logging in Kodi and used the OSMC log uploaded
Logs

https://paste.osmc.tv/ajoyixaxoj

I have also used sudo cec-client -t p

https://paste.osmc.tv/fohecelagu.coffee

I have added in that when I disable and enable the CEC and when the TV remote works.

If you need me to get more logs or run other commands just let me know.

Thanks

While your problem sounds a bit specific I just wonder did you tried to disconnect the TV and Vero for several minutes from the power to reset CEC, that might help.
As generally Panasonic CEC is one of the best working with the Vero.

Thanks, I don’t think I have removed the power from the TV but the Vero V for sure. I will remove power from both tonight and test.

It’s the fact just clicking into the CEC settings and then back out can fix it. My guess is it’s restarting the CEC and what ever is happening fixes the problem.

One thing to note, if run the diag on the CEC over ssh I can see the tv remote traffic even tho it’s not working. It’s some kind of handshake problem, maybe.

As a dirty fix, If there is a shell script to do the same as I can with the GUI, I could use that on boot. As log as it’s working 100% of the time. I did try and use curl and turn this setting off and on using the http control, did not get it working, will try again tonight.

Update

Have tried to remove power for 10 mins on both, did not help.

The http interface seems to be a no go, the CEC is not an standard addon.

Log ( Boot Vero V, fix control by clicking into CEC and clicking OK, upload logs)

UPDATE

I put the HDMI into a non EARC port, in my case HDMI 4 and it’s working! This will work for me!

Great that it works on a different TV HDMI input, but I still can’t help wondering whether or not you checked the Vero-V CEC Adapter settings [OSMC>Settings>System>Input>Peripherals>CEC Adapter] for your setup, also taking care to power everything down and restart after changing any of those CEC settings. Possibly also consider setting the defaults on the Vero-V CEC Adapter settings page.
