Checking for updates again should now solve the problem.
It may take a few minutes for the fix to reach the mirrors.
It would be great if someone can confirm this.

Checked just now, still no updates available.
You have to force an update search through “my osmc” menu, right?
Sam said it might take a few minutes until the update is available.
I have just tried running the check for osmc updates via UI (manually) and it does not seem to see any thing new. Will try again in a bit give it time to propagate.
Still no update. Will keep checking later.
Just triggered the update now! will go check downstairs if it’s working and report back. Had the same issue.
UPDATE: works. Did not even notice that only H265 Videos were hit as I almost only have H265. Anyway, glad it works again. And thanks for the quick fix!

Update seems to have fixed the buffering problem here.
