Hi,
First thing I would check is the network performance, details can found here:
Sometimes it is important to check the network performance between your OSMC Device and the device providing your media (NAS, Server, PC). Especially when you are connected via wireless the throughput variations can harm you viewing experience.
This short How To should give you the required information how to install iperf3 and how to run the respective tests. When doing these tests it is suggested to have a simple setup (single switch between Sender and Receiver and avoid other traffic on the …
Could you please provide the results of the tests in the link.
Also you may want to consider trying with kernel mounts rather than kodi soft mounts:
This how-to describes how to mount your network shares via autofs. Autofs should be as performant as fstab based mounting but has the advantage that your shares are mounted on demand which also should give you more reliability in case of network interuptions.
First install the autofs package
sudo apt-get install autofs
If you already have mounted your shares already via fstab comment out that line in fstab and reboot.
For this how-to we are going to use a directory for each server, if you wa…
Thanks Tom.
Hey,
Thanks For the quick reply. Network Speed should be okay. The Vero is wired to a Network Switch, Like the Nas.
I will try mounting the nas a different way, but this does not explain why it suddenly stopped working.
Hi,
Still would be a good idea to test, being as it was something which was working ok; then started to fail. Could be failing network cable or switch port.
Thanks Tom.
We don’t know what NAS you’re using but have you tried to enable setting at
Settings → Services → SMBclient → Mitigate MTU issues with SMBv2
?
I am using a Synology 918+ NAS.
I added the shares via autofs now and it seems to be working fine now.
It seems that this fixed the issue.
Thanks!!!
