I am very interested in the VERO V.
I am from the EU (Germany) and would like to buy the device.
Where and how can I best obtain the VERO V in Europe (can I do this directly via your website)?
How do I get a compatible power supply?
How does the supply of updates work? Are these automatically installed for the VERO V on a regular basis or do I have to take care of them myself (manually)?
What is the current status of Dolby Vision support for the VERO V? Is there now a solution and does it work âout of the boxâ or do I have to pay attention to/do something?
European orders have been discussed in this thread. If you scroll down there are also Europe resellers mentioned.
Yes you can directly order on the OSMC Shop when you place your order you will be asked which power plug you require and then get the correct power supply in your order.
Updates are automatically provided to the Vero. You just need to confirm âYesâ to install them.
Dolby Vision Profile 5 will be automatically converted into HDR10 and sent as such to your TV. Other profile will just use the HDR fallback layer.
This post gives more details:
Actually we ship the plug expected for the region automatically. Only for some peripherals like USB Hubs do we have a selection; but a user can put the desired region of PSU in the order notes if they want to override the default or clarify.
We ship directly to Europe (3-5 working days on average).
We also have a reseller based in the EU: OSMC Vero V - RPishop.cz
Currently Profile 5 will be tonemapped to HDR. This is the only Dolby Vision profile which doesnât have a fallback layer. Previously images would appear in the wrong colours.
We are working on support for other DV Profiles in the near future, but all of these other profiles have HDR10 fallback layers so will appear correctly on your display.
Thank you for the detailed answer.
I am very convinced by the device and will get one via the reseller âOSMC Vero V - RPishop.czâ.
When I order directly from your website, I canât find the option to select the appropriate EU power supply anywhere. Would I have to specify this in the comment field?
No - if you order to Germany for example, we automatically send the correct PSU for Germany. The note field is only to override defaults, ie you are in Germany temporarily as an expat
